Today, my life continued to evolve and I also continued to expand my horizons. I admit when I first walked in I was a tiny bit nervous because I was going into an environment that was new to me. As the day went on I started to become more comfortable because I got to know people more and saw what the experience was going to be like. We also ran into a few issues with software but we all managed to not let that affect us. Finally, I consider today a success because I met a lot of new people and continue to gain experience about the field I want to get into.
Day two: Today started off with Mario from Newsday looking over our interviews with each other and it was a great way to begin the day. Then, after lunch we had our first press conference and it was with John Mcnally. It was pretty interesting because I found out many things I did not know such as that Long Island has 127 school districts. Finally, today was fun and I had a lot great new experiences and continued to get to know everyone better.
Day three: John Hildebrand senior education writer at News day came in today and talked to us about everything education on Long Island. Also, we learned how to start building our own websites which was fun because it was something I was interested in and its good to know for the future. lastly, we learned what types of stories what are going to be working on and learned ways to do them.
Day Four: Today started off with us doing research on our specific school district. Then, we had assistant Dean Murphy talk to us about how to look, sound, and ways to listen during an interview. Finally, after we came back from lunch we researched everything about the tax cap and stuff.
Day Five: We started off the day with Mario from Newsday coming back and he taught us some editing techniques and also about Final Cut Pro. Then, I worked with Professor Morrow on my website and learned a few new things. Finally, I ended today with interviewing Lorraine from the Nassau Suffolk Boards Association. I thought it was a great interview because I received a lot of detailed answers.
Day six: Today we worked on our stories all day!! I got a lot done today and will finish the story tomorrow.
Day Seven: Worked on our stories all day!! I finished my story and tonight I am going to do my personal profile.
Day Eight: Finished both of my stories, looking forward to tomorrow.
